Green Infrastructure For Tomorrow - Together!

GIFT-T is a transnational project that will bring together communities and the business world on the continent to deliver sustainable and robust green infrastructure (GI) across North West Europe.

GIFT-T aims to engage communities and the business sector to attract new funding and delivery mechanisms for delivering GI at a time when the sector is facing increasing pressure from development from new roads and housing while at the same time facing cuts in public spending.

GIFT-T! Hoo Peninsula Community Conversation

Young People On The Hoo Peninsula June 2012

A range of discussions took place with young people aged 8-16 on the Hoo Peninsula in June 2012 as part of the GIFT-T! project.

Young people liked the close-knit communities, freedom to roam, green fields and everyone knowing each other.

But many also complained there was nothing to do on the Peninsula and that they would like a more urban experience with shops and nightlife.

The project looked at the use of 'green' and 'blue' spaces on the Peninsula, travel on and to the Peninsula (public footpaths, public transport, cycling, etc), and regeneration of the area, including plans for an airport.
