Milton Creek

Milton Creek

This project aims to reunite the town with its creekside heritage and provide new links between the regenerated town centre of Sittingbourne with Milton Creek, the Swale Marshes and the estuary.

The regeneration of Sittingbourne Town Centre will see more than 2,000 new houses built and a revitalised town centre for retail, leisure and commerce. Milton Creek will be part of that regeneration, creating 50ha of new green space on brownfield land.

It will involve the continued development of Church Marshes Country Park as a natural landscape for Swale’s urban communities, and extending the park along the creek.

It will realign the Saxon Shore Way along the edge of the creek, maximising the value of the waterfront, and enhance wildlife habitats within the extended country park and the wider creekside corridor.
